Whether you’re a novice, beginner, a seasoned veteran or something in between, we have a curling league that's just right for you!  We have leagues for men, leagues for women and mixed leagues.  Some leagues are more competitive while other leagues are more focused on the social element of the game.  Whatever leagues you choose, we will guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun!

Listed below are all the leagues that the Simcoe Curling Club has available.  By acquiring a Full Membership to the SCC, you have the privilege of joining as many leagues as you wish.

Also provided is a rough schedule that shows when the league operates.  Please note that while every effort is made to run the curling draws in their respective time slot, on occasion, the league administrator may be required to move a game to an "off-day" in order to accommodate other leagues or events hosted by the SCC.

If you have questions about the club, the leagues, fees or anything else, please contact SCC Membership Services at (226) 440-CURL.

The LEARN TO CURL PROGRAM is a 7 week structured program designed by the Canadian Curling Association. There will be 8 to 10 Certified Club Coaches to teach you all the things you need to know about curling. The program runs on Sunday evenings for the first 7 weeks of the curling season.

The  ADULT INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE is for players/club members with 3 or less years of curling experience. Certified Club Coaches (1-2 per curling sheet) will be on the ice offering additional instruction. Rotating positions so participants learn what each position is all about. Two draws starting after Christmas on Sundays.

For more information contact Dave Whitney 519-583-9512

Open to all curlers regardless of gender, this is a "choose your own" team entry league. Teams typically are declared prior to the start of curling in October. The league convener will assist interested new curlers on getting assigned to a team or at least on the spare list.

Teams are grouped into divisions. Teams play a round robin within their division and based on their win/loss record are regrouped within the league every five weeks. Teams move up or down the league ladder according to their success.

Round winners qualify for playoffs at seasons end in the division they qualify in.

Playoffs determine the Simcoe Curling Club Open Competitive Club Champion from group A as well as division championships for groups B, C and D.

Games are normally played daily (Monday to Friday) at 8:30 AM. Games are played using the"Tumbleweed" approach, i.e. on arrival at the Club you draw for Sheet, Color and Position and play the first two ends in that position. You then move up to the next position for ends three and four, etc. For example, you draw. Sheet 1, Red, Lead. In Ends 1 and 2 you play Lead on sheet 1 with red rocks. In Ends 3 and 4 you play Second. In Ends 5 and 6 you play Vice. In Ends 7 and 8 you play Skip. In this way all players get experience playing all positions. Note that some Mondays are used by the Ladies and the Senior Men do not play on that day. Additionally, a small number of days are used by the Schools and again the Senior Men do not play on these days.

League Participation Protocol: This League is primarily designed for Senior Men and is made up of two categories of member: Senior Men - Reduced Membership Fee -- Those who are 50 years of age and retired paying the reduced Membership Fee for Senior Men, (presently $300 + HST). Senior Men -- Full Fee Club Members -- Those who sign up as "Full Members" paying the full fee of $400 + HST. As a Full Member these individuals may play or spare in all Club Leagues.

Games are followed with coffee and muffins and socializing.
