Code of Conduct

Member Expectations

  1. Be Respectful Treat everyone with kindness, fairness, and integrity.
  2. Play Fair Respect the rules, officials, volunteers, and fellow curlers.
  3. Stay Safe No bullying, harassment, or dangerous behaviour—on or off the ice.
  4. Use Social Media Responsibly Avoid posts that harm others or damage the club’s reputation.
  5. Know Your Role Coaches, athletes, parents, and board members all have specific responsibilities.

What Happens When Things Go Wrong

If a member breaks the Code of Conduct, here’s what happens:
You Can Report It in Writing to any board member within 14 days of the incident.

How It’s Handled

Complaints are managed through two different processes depending on severity:

Type of Issue Example Who Handles It

  • Minor Rude comment, broken rule, shoving Discipline Committee
  • Major Harassment, repeated offences, violence Independent Case Manager

Your Privacy Matters

  • Complaints are kept confidential and handled respectfully.
  • Sanctions Could Include: Warning, suspension, or removal from club activities.
  • You may appeal the decision if needed.

As a member of the Curling Ontario and Curling Canada, the Club is bound by their respective Codes of Conduct and Ethics.
